What are ‘Foundational Supports’ anyway?

Online
Date 21 May 2024
Time 7pm AEDT

Our first Open Dialogues event focused on all things Foundational Supports, what they are, what problems they are trying to solve, and how they should be delivered.

Our host Elly Desmarchelier was joined on the panel by Todd Winther, El Gibbs and Payge Hollis. Dr Sue Olney from the University of Melbourne was the special guest.

But it’s what comes next that is even more exciting

During the event, we launched our Disability Discovery Project to learn more about the supports we like and the ones we wish we had.

As the experts in our own lives, we know what supports work for us and we know far too well which supports we wish we could have to make our lives better.

And we want people with disability, families and supporters to have a say about what these supports should be.

So, we are crowd-sourcing the data – which means we need as many people as possible to fill out our simple survey to accurately reflect what support looks like in our communities.

We’d love to have you join this project. You can do so by taking our survey Visit our project page to learn more about why this project is critically important, and what we’ll do with all the information we collect.
