Art as resistance: Creativity and disabled storytelling
Disabled people have always used art to tell our stories, express who we are, and connect with each other.
In this Open Dialogue, disabled people will talk about their experiences with creativity and art, including:
- how art can be a tool for activism and speaking up about our rights
- what helps or gets in the way of disabled people making art
- how art helps us share our stories and lived experiences.
We will also talk about:
- using art to challenge ableism and unfair systems
- valuing disabled identity and culture
- celebrating our creativity and community
- expressing ourselves in ways that feel true and powerful.
We will hear from creative people with diverse practices.
