Talking about changes to the NDIS

Online
Date Wednesday, June 24
Time 1pm - 2.30pm (AEST)

We are in the middle of the biggest changes to the NDIS since it began.

Mark Butler, the Minister for Disability and the NDIS, announced changes to the NDIS in April.

The changes include 160,000 people being removed from the NDIS, and big cuts to capacity building and social, civic and community participation budgets.

The disability community hasn’t had much chance to understand or respond to these changes. What we do know is complicated and hard to follow.

We know that the disability community is feeling angry, scared and overwhelmed. Probably a lot of other things.

We’re feeling those things too. We want to create an inclusive space where we can talk about the changes to the NDIS and what these changes mean.

That’s why our next Open Dialogue will focus on:

  • hearing from disabled people who are experts on the NDIS, and
  • answering your questions about the NDIS changes as best as we can.

Our speakers include:

Maeve Kennedy – CEO of Inclusion Australia

Emma Bennison – CEO Of Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA)

Kelly Treloar – Director of the Disability Dialogue

This event will be hosted by:

Todd Winther – NDIS Subject Matter Specialist at DSC

Sara Gingold – Editor in Chief at DSC
